Community Corner: Man Shoots Three and Dies in Fire

Los Angeles: On Thursday, February 16, 2012, around 12:45 p.m., three shooting victims were transported to a local hospital and two people were pronounced dead in a residence that was set fire in the 500 block of North Harvard Boulevard.

On Thursday, February 16, 2012, around 12:45 p.m., a shooting involving multiple victims occurred in 500 block of North Harvard Boulevard.  The victims were inside the residence when the suspect entered and began shooting.  One male and two female victims were shot. The suspect then set the house on fire and the house was engulfed in flames. The three shooting victims managed to escape from the house and LAFD rescue personnel transported the victims to a local hospital for treatment.  After the fire was extinguished, a fourth victim and the suspect were discovered dead inside the residence by LAFD.  Their causes of death are not known at this time, pending autopsy.

Detective say the suspect was a male Hispanic in his 50's who lived nearby and had a former dating relationship with one of the surviving female victims.  Detectives are not releasing the names of the suspect or the victims until family members are notified and the decedents are identified via fingerprints, dental records etc.  The motive for this shooting appears to be domestic violence.

This case is being investigated by West Bureau Homicide Detectives.  Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact West Bureau Homicide Detectives Sandefur or Castruita at 213-382-9434. Bio:
Calligraphic master, Zhuang Li Wai (descendant of famous philosopher Master Zhuang Zi and Emperor Zhuang of The Zhou Dynasty) was born in Canton, China in 1951. He migrated to Thailand at the age of 14 and finished his B.A. in Economics from Chulalongkhon University in 1974. He moved to United States in 1980. At the age of 15, he started to study calligraphy with the late Professor Zhuang Li Wen who was his cousin and the late Mr. Li Tin Kwan with the standard styles of Zhong You (The Period of Three Kingdom 220-280AD), Zhang Zhi (The Tang Dynasty 618-907AD), Wang Xi Zhi (The Jin Dynasty 265-420AD), and another Kwan script by Huaisu (The Tang Dynasty 777AD). Master Zhuang Li Wai has been doing his calligraphy for more than 35 years and since he found himself, he has been influenced by some modern and western master painters such as Kandinsky, Miro, and Jackson Polloc. He captured the inspiration and the accents from these great masters' abstract art ideas, he then created his own unique style and spectrum. Many of Master Zhuang Li Wai's masterpieces have been collected by many museums and private collectors. His dream is for his art to hopefully one day touch the heart of more people in the world.
